About Your Mentor

LEAP was founded by Greek American Architect, Stephen Coorlas, a licensed architect with a private practice focused on custom residential and uniquely branded retail/commercial projects. With an extensive professional career as Project Architect and Design Director at various corporate firms, Stephen gained a passion for sharing his insight and experience with those seeking guidance and mentorship through the expansive field of architectural practice.

Stephen attended the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) in Spain, and trained in emergent architectural practices including digital fabrication and parametric design. His cultured background in design, combined with his passion for construction and documentation technology, is at the core of LEAP's offerings.

Overview

LEAP is a mentorship and consultation program for emerging architectural practitioners seeking fellowship or guidance while navigating common practice, exploring novel technologies, experimenting with unique workflows, and/or addressing industry standards that will reshape the practice of architecture and design.

Members

If you are an architect, designer, student or researcher with a passion for progress, and are seeking mentorship and/or fellowship, this platform is for you. This league serves as a community and continual workshop for like-minded professionals who are actively engaged in the evolution of the architectural discipline.

LEAP is composed of members with a vast range of experiences, from undergraduate students to young professionals, and seasoned practitioners who are interested in pursuing and promoting emergent practices. Typical dialogue and discussion focuses on how common practice functions today, what’s at the forefront of design and documentation software, research and experimentation with new and novel construction or fabrication technologies, and/or evaluating the current and future trajectory of practice based on social trends, ideals, and philosophies through documentation and implementation.

Participation

Participation is currently offered through our host and affiliate venture Architecture for Thought™, a YouTube channel dedicated to emergent technologies and philosophies that drive the discipline of architecture toward a more efficient, honest and earth-friendly practice.

By submitting your email address to LEAP, you will be notified of open-invite YouTube Live sessions and/or special events. Live Sessions will cover a variety of topics including architectural common practice, emergent technology, and experimental industry workflows. Curated mentorship programs and one-on-one virtual mentorship sessions are available by contacting info@coorlasarch.com.
